Recap: Fillmore Flashes vs. Carpinteria Warriors
The Fillmore Flashes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carpinteria. Fillmore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carpinteria apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Fillmore's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaime Soto, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Octavio Orozco, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Fillmore's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-13. As for Carpinteria, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore will take on Hueneme at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Hueneme is ranked 1214th, while Fillmore is ranked 1231st). As for Carpinteria, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Malibu at 6:00 p.m.
