            Softball Recap: Southwest Onslow Stallions vs. Kinston Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            While Southwest Onslow put up plenty of  runs on Tuesday, the same  can't be said for Kinston. The Stallions were the clear victors by  a  15-0 margin over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won five matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.

 Whitney Grissett and  Skylar Phillips made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Grissett   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Phillips   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Grissett has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season. At the plate,  Grissett  scored four  runs and  stole three bases while going 4-for-4, while  Phillips  scored two  runs and  stole a base. Those  four  hits gave  Grissett a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Grace Randolph was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Haylie Anderson, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-3.
 Southwest Onslow  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .586. They are 4-1 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Southwest Onslow has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Kinston,  they are  on  a  23-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
 Coincidentally, Southwest Onslow and Kinston will both be playing North Lenoir the next time they take the field. The Stallions will  host the Hawks at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday, while the Vikings will  host them  at 4:30  p.m.  on  the 11th.
