Baseball Game Preview: Chilton Pirates vs. Rosebud-Lott Cougars

Chilton is 0-4 against Rosebud-Lott since March of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Pirates will challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Chilton has given up an average of 19 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chilton is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 26th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Holland, falling 15-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rosebud-Lott). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Bremond an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Rosebud-Lott is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Chilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Chilton suffered a grim 20-6 defeat to Rosebud-Lott when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
