Brattleboro suffers sixth straight loss at home

Recap: Brattleboro Bears vs. Windsor Yellowjackets

The Brattleboro Bears fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Windsor Yellowjackets on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 68-65. Even though they lost, Brattleboro's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the loss, Brattleboro had strong showings from Jackson Emery, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Jack Cady, who scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Emery has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Elliott, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and five steals.

Even though they lost, Brattleboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Brattleboro bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Windsor, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Brattleboro will head out on the road to square off against Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Vermont (Mt. St. Joseph Academy is ranked 50th, while Brattleboro is ranked 35th). As for Windsor, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Woodstock at 2:30 p.m. Woodstock will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
