Basketball Recap: Benson Comes Up Short

After soaring to 61 points the game before, Benson was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Pima Roughriders 58-14. The matchup marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Pima's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hanna Ashby, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 16 points and five steals. Those 16 points gave Ashby a new career-high. Taylor Ashby was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Benson fell to 7-1.

Coming up, Benson will challenge Lincoln Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lightning's defense has only allowed 22.5 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Pima, they will face off against Scottsdale Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
