Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Sage Creek

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Sage Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the El Camino Wildcats 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 last Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Elijah Stephens, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Sean Saiki was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The win was the fourth in a row for Sage Creek, bringing their record up to 9-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.25 runs across that stretch. As for El Camino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sage Creek will face off against Del Norte at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Camino, they will take on San Pasqual at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
