Recap: Canton Tigers vs. Greenville Hornets

The Canton Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 71-32 win over Greenville at home. The win was nothing new for Canton as they're now sitting on three straight.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gymanuel Wells, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tamarion Rhodes, who scored six points along with four steals.

Canton's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Greenville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton will challenge Yazoo City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yazoo City is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Canton a 11-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Cleveland Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greenville in Mississippi (Cleveland Central is ranked 16th, while Greenville is ranked 146th).
