Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of RODNEY WAGNER and SABIEN MCGRAW Lead Panther Creek to Victory

Panther Creek waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 71-56 win over the Sanger Indians.

Panther Creek was led to victory by SABIEN MCGRAW and RODNEY WAGNER. MCGRAW went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while WAGNER went 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of XAVIER RAINWATER, who posted eight points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Panther Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Panther Creek has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Sanger, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-3.

Panther Creek and Sanger should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Panther Creek (ranked 133rd) will meet Madison (ranked 744th) at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Panther Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season. Similarly, Sanger (ranked 118th) will meet Lake Dallas (ranked 568th) at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
