Recap: South Lake Eagles vs. Lake Minneola Hawks
The South Lake Eagles suffered their biggest defeat since December 18, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 56-35 walloping at the hands of Lake Minneola. South Lake has not had much luck with Lake Minneola recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Minneola to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aliyah Perry, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eva Saunders, who scored ten points along with seven steals.
South Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Lake Minneola, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Lake and Windermere will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Windermere will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Lake Minneola, they will head out on the road to challenge Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Seminole is ranked 153rd, while Lake Minneola is ranked 133rd).
