Baseball Recap: Satellite Comes Up Short

Satellite extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 10-8. They came up short against the Sunset Knights, falling 18-8. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Scorpio, who until this contest were averaging 3.56 runs allowed.

Austin Still led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Satellite is 4-1 when Still posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

As for Sunset, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

On Sunset's side, Julio Gonzalez was a standout: he fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Roca, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Satellite has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Coral Gables on the 24th. As for Sunset, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-5 win against Pinson Valley on the 24th.
