Game recap: Plant defeats Tampa Bay Tech after late score

After taking the lead in the fourth quarter, Plant (Tampa, Fla.) held on for a 21-14 victory over Tampa Bay Tech (Tampa, Fla.) on Saturday. The difference for the Panthers was Cameron Winter ran for a touchdown.

The score was knotted at 14 heading into the half. The Panthers took the lead for good on a Winter touchdown run with 8:00 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Richard Benjamin made a difference for the Titans. The senior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.

Plant's standout player in the win was Winter. The junior wide receiver ran for one touchdown.

When the two teams played each other last season, PHS came away with a 36-0 victory.



The defeat comes as a step back for Tampa Bay Tech, which notched a 22-12 victory over Chamberlain in its previous outing.

In a 7A District 7 game next week Tampa Bay Tech (3-2) takes on Wiregrass Ranch, and Plant (3-1) will go up against Wharton in a 8A District 6 game.
