Football Recap: Torrey Pines Starts Season with Win Against La Jolla

Torrey Pines took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the La Jolla Vikings with a sharp 43-19 victory. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 21-14 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hudson Smith, who threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns. La Jolla's leading receiver Carson Diehl was Smith's top target yet again, picking up 166 receiving yards and one score.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Torrey Pines will challenge San Pasqual at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for La Jolla, they will face off against Patrick Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
