Baseball Recap: Faith Christian Beats Halifax Academy for Their Fourth Straight Win

Faith Christian barely beat Halifax Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went the Faith Christian Patriots' way against the Halifax Academy Vikings on Thursday as the Faith Christian Patriots made off with a 14-0 win. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Ashton Lascallette was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent Wilson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Faith Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halifax Academy only posted an OBP of .278.

The victory (which was Faith Christian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.75 hits in those games compared to only 5.33 in the others. As for Halifax Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Faith Christian will square off against John Paul II Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Faith Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so John Paul II Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Halifax Academy, they will challenge Harrells Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Halifax Academy has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
