Softball Recap: Escondido Cougars vs. Classical Academy Caimans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mt. Carmel, Escondido was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Classical Academy Caimans by a score of 11-7. Considering the Cougars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Abby White was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Dabelstein, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Escondido always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Classical Academy only posted an OBP of .438.
With the win, Escondido broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-15. As for Classical Academy, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Coming up, Escondido will head out to take on Ramona at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.57 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Classical Academy, they will be playing at home against Orange Glen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Caimans are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
