Mount Vernon has gone 5-0 against Commerce recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mount Vernon Tigers will host the Commerce Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Friday, Mount Vernon had to suffer through a 51-24 loss at the hands of Winnsboro. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Commerce has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against Winnsboro on Tuesday, falling 70-30. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Raiders are ranked 44th).

Commerce's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Mount Vernon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.

Mount Vernon didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Commerce when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 46-42 victory. Will Mount Vernon repeat their success, or does Commerce have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
