Baseball Recap: Potomac School's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Potomac School came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Saint James Saints get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Gavin Speigel looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Potomac School's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Pence, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Potomac School is undefeated when Pence posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Adamec, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Potomac School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Potomac School's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Saint James, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
