Soccer Recap: West Stanly Comes Up Short

West Stanly came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-0 to the Community School of Davidson Spartans. While losing is never fun, West Stanly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Community School of Davidson are ranked 91st).

West Stanly's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Community School of Davidson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

West Stanly has already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Piedmont on the 1st. As for Community School of Davidson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Pine Lake Prep on the 31st.
