Soccer Game Preview: Scotland vs. Richmond

Scotland hasn't had much luck against Richmond recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Scotland will be playing at home against Richmond at 6:00 p.m. Scotland has given up an average of 10.2 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Scotland is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Lee County, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Richmond kept a clean sheet against Uwharrie Charter Academy on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 1-0. The win was all the more spectacular given Richmond's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Uwharrie Charter Academy are ranked 81st).

Scotland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Richmond, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6-1.

Scotland suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Richmond when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Scotland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
