Basketball Recap: Fredonia Drops Highest Score of Season Against Girard

Fredonia scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 102-92 to the Girard Trojans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (73), the Yellowjackets still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Fredonia still got an impressive performance from Eli Barnett, who posted 26 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Barnett continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ashton Oneal, who scored 16 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Fredonia was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. This was only their fourth loss (out of 17 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Fredonia's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points over those games. As for Girard, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12-3.

As of now, neither Fredonia nor Girard have any future games scheduled.
