Football Recap: Kanab Starts Season with Win at Home

Kanab took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Emery Spartans with a sharp 45-20 win. The Cowboys pushed the score to 45-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans cut but never quite recovered from.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Kanab's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Degan Swapp, Levi Stewart, and Brayden Johnson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Grady Anderson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kanab will square off against North Sevier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Emery, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Beaver on the 29th.
