Softball Recap: Chiefland Comes Up Short

Chiefland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Crystal River Pirates, falling 11-1. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chiefland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Crystal River, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Chiefland will square off against Branford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Crystal River, they will challenge Westminster Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Crystal River's pitchers better be ready for this one: Westminster Christian has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
