Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. North Kissimmee Christian Lions

The Freedom Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the North Kissimmee Christian Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Freedom is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 79-56 to West Orange. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since November 29, 2024.

Freedom's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dominique Pierre, who posted ten points and six rebounds, and Riccardo Palombarini, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Benitez, who put up three points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, North Kissimmee Christian came up short against Heritage Christian School on Friday and fell 79-72. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Eagles are ranked 235th).

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for North Kissimmee Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Everything went Freedom's way against North Kissimmee Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as Freedom made off with a 91-71 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freedom since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
