Baseball Recap: Long Beach Gets the Win

Long Beach hadn't done well against Hancock recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Long Beach narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hancock 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearcats.

Landen Moreaux was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Wayne Ulrich was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Long Beach now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Hancock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Long Beach will take on rival George County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hancock is set to face off against their familiar foe Pascagoula at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
