Softball Recap: Garey Vikings vs. La Puente Warriors
Garey came into Friday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the La Puente Warriors by a score of 15-11 on Friday. The win was just what Garey needed coming off of a 22-0 loss in their prior match.
Natalie Willams was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Lopez, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Garey's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for La Puente, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garey will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Pomona at 3:30 p.m. As for La Puente, they will challenge Bassett at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
