Basketball Recap: El Primero Comes Up Short

El Primero was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the KIPP Navigate College Prep Tigers.

KIPP Navigate College Prep found their leader in sophomore David Quezada Orantes, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Quezada Orantes also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zephaniah Martinez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

El Primero's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for KIPP Navigate College Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

El Primero will be playing at home against Cindy Avitia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for KIPP Navigate College Prep, they and North Valley Baptist will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. North Valley Baptist will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something KIPP Navigate College Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
