Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Grizzlies vs. Middleton Vikings

The Skyline Grizzlies will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Middleton Vikings at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Skyline lost 14-5 to Hueneme on Saturday.

Izaak Hansen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Middleton entered their tilt with Thunder Ridge on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans a 12-0 shutout.

Beau Ramsey tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cam Lenius, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ryan Collins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Middleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thunder Ridge only posted an OBP of .000.

Middleton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Skyline took their win against Middleton in their previous meeting back in March of 2018 by a conclusive 10-1. Does Skyline have another victory up their sleeve, or will Middleton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
