Soccer Game Preview: Walsh Jesuit vs. Buckeye

The Walsh Jesuit Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Buckeye Bucks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Walsh Jesuit's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Walsh Jesuit is headed into the contest having not lost since the 6th and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand GlenOak a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. That's two games straight that Walsh Jesuit have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Freddie Marcell, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Buckeye has been on a difficult stretch since their win on August 30. They came up short against Bay on Wednesday, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that Buckeye have lost by exactly three goals.

Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-2. As for Walsh Jesuit, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-3 record this season.

Walsh Jesuit took their victory against Buckeye in their previous meeting back in August of 2023 by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
