William Penn faced Salesianum in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Colonials put the hurt on the Sallies with a sharp 8-2 victory. Considering the Colonials have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

William Penn has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Salesianum, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Looking ahead, William Penn will host St. Elizabeth at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Salesianum, they will head out to face off against Sussex Tech at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
