The St. Joseph Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Lompoc Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph's defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so Lompoc's offense will have their work cut out for them.
St. Joseph is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Arroyo Grande just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 30-7 to the Eagles. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, St. Joseph saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grayson Gaines rushed for 119 yards. Gaines is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last game, Lompoc made sure to put some points up on the board against Mission College Prep on Friday. The Braves claimed a resounding 42-14 win over the Royals. The Braves pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Royals had little chance of recovering from.
Lompoc's win came from a few key players St. Joseph will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Parker House, who rushed for 76 yards and two TDs. Those 76 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Lompoc was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Lompoc didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kasch Kubasiewicz, Nelson Brown, and Noah Kinard picked up one apiece.
Lompoc's record is now 6-2. As for St. Joseph, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. St. Joseph has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 200.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lompoc struggles in that department as they've been averaging 212.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
St. Joseph skirted past Lompoc 10-7 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
