Softball Recap: Hamilton Heights Wins Going Away Against Tipton

Hamilton Heights's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Tipton Blue Devils. Considering the Huskies have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Heather Crays was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Hall, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two triples. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Rhoton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Hamilton Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hamilton Heights' victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Tipton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Hamilton Heights will have a chance to go back-to-back against Tipton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
