Hickory came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the West Iredell Warriors 44-8. Given the Red Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Warriors are ranked 132nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hickory to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ronan Nieland, who picked up 88 receiving yards and two scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaheem Jenkins, who rushed for 69 yards and a pair of TDs.
