Basketball Recap: Hondo Avington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Webster over Grove

Webster lost against Grove back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Webster Warriors fell just short of the Grove Ridgerunners by a score of 48-46.

Webster's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hondo Avington, who went 8 of 13 en route to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Avington a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Deroin, who posted four points and ten assists.

Webster's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Grove, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Webster has already played their next game (against Morris), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Grove, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-42 defeat against Oklahoma F on the 8th.
