Recap: Churchill Bulldogs vs. Whitman Vikings
The Churchill Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Whitman by a score of 59-56. Churchill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Whitman apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Sean Curran continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Whitman, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Curran scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Brown, who scored 13 points.
Churchill's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Whitman, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Churchill will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bethesda-Chevy Chase at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Whitman is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Milford Mill Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 26th. Milford Mill Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
