Volleyball Recap: Copley Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Copley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Whitmer Panthers by a score of 3-2.

Copley started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-17, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Copley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jayli Owens had 24 digs and three aces. Owens has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Copley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Whitmer, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Copley nor Whitmer have any future games scheduled.
