Baseball Game Preview: Parsons Christian Academy Lions vs. Harvest Community Warriors

The Parsons Christian Academy Lions will take on the Harvest Community Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Parsons Christian Academy came up short against Eagle's View on Friday, falling 19-3. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Brayden Comer and Matthew Winans did some serious damage despite the final result: Comer got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double, while Winans scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Winans has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jake Parenteau also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Harvest Community's offense. They lost 15-0 to Eagle's View on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, Harvest Community's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Parsons Christian Academy now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Harvest Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Parsons Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Harvest Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
