Softball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Ross Rams

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Ross. The Wildcats will host the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Franklin couldn't beat Ross on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Rams by a score of 6-5. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Ross' part, Paige Baker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits. Baker was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Josi Alvis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Meadow Webb, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Ross kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive contests.

Ross is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
