Baseball Recap: Columbia City Now 10-3 over Last 13 Games

Columbia City came out on top against Heritage on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Eagles walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Patriots. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered an 11-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Henry Kneller was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Maddox Moon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Columbia City has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia City will head out to take on East Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will take on Churubusco at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
