Basketball Preview: Hartsville Red Foxes vs. Wilson Tigers

The Hartsville Red Foxes will head out on the road to take on the Wilson Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hartsville has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while the Tigers will arrive with 12 straight wins.

Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Hartsville had to settle for a 46-44 loss against the Knights.

Meanwhile, Wilson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 85-67 win over Myrtle Beach. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Tristan Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Josh Leonard, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Hartsville dropped their record down to 4-17 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Wilson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Hartsville might still be hurting after the 68-45 loss they got from the Tigers in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Thompson, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Now that Hartsville knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
