Recap: Steward Spartans vs. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints
The Steward Spartans won the last time they faced the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Steward came out on top against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy by a score of 59-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Steward.
It was another big night for Donovan Richardson, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fisher Sprouse, who scored ten points.
Steward's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steward and Peninsula Catholic will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Peninsula Catholic is coming into the match with five straight wins on the road, meaning Steward will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Norfolk Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norfolk Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Nansemond-Suffolk Academy likes a good challenge.
