Houghton entered their tilt with Calumet on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Calumet Copper Kings by a score of 64-53. Given the Gremlins' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Copper Kings are ranked 345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Houghton's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Calumet, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Houghton will welcome Ishpeming at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calumet, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chassell at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
