Softball Recap: Galt Takes a Loss

Galt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Union Mine Diamondbacks. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 10-5 to the Diamondbacks when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rianna Mayer was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Mialahnee Lathipanya-Kham also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Galt's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Union Mine, their record is now 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galt will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bradshaw Christian at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Union Mine, they will challenge Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
