Basketball Game Preview: Metamora Redbirds vs. Rochester Rockets

The Metamora Redbirds will square off against the Rochester Rockets at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Metamora is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Washington just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to the Panthers 49-43. While losing is never fun, the Redbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Panthers are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Rochester came up short against Sacred Heart-Griffin on Saturday and fell 48-36. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Metamora's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Rochester, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Everything went Metamora's way against Rochester in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Metamora made off with a 60-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Metamora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
