Football Recap: Quanah Comes Up Short

After flying high against Haskell last Friday, Quanah came back down to earth. The Indians took a blow against the Petrolia Pirates on Friday, falling 56-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

Petrolia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kason Gee led the charge by rushing for 130 yards and three scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Gee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brodie Jackson, who rushed for 121 yards and one TD on only 14 carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Quanah fell to 2-1. As for Petrolia, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Quanah will square off against Lockney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Petrolia, they will take on Chico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
