Bessemer City had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 53-49 victory over the Forestview Jaguars on Tuesday. For the Yellow Jackets, this counts as revenge for the 73-36 win the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amani Neely, who posted 20 points along with six steals and five boards. Another player making a difference was Delainah Springs, who put up 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Bessemer City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-31 victory against Ashbrook on the 19th. As for Forestview, they will host Maiden at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
