Basketball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln lost against Jacksonville last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lincoln Golden Bears were beaten by the Jacksonville Golden Eagles 71-23. The match marked the Golden Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jacksonville found their leader in freshman Neveah Nicholson, who went 11 for 23 on her way to 27 points and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nicholson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Phillips, who posted 11 points along with five boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln and nudges their season record down to 12-10. As for Jacksonville, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln has already played their next contest (against Leeds), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jacksonville will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Alexandria at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
