Baseball Recap: Suwannee's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Suwannee extended their winning streak to eight on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 16-6 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the North Florida Christian Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 back in March.

Suwannee's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colton Rogers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. That's the most hits Rogers has posted since back in March.

Suwannee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests.

As for North Florida Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.25 runs.

On North Florida Christian's side, Moxon Riggan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. Riggan has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

Suwannee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 victory against Lowndes on the 10th. As for North Florida Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-0 defeat against Chiles on the 10th.
