Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Piles Up the Points Against Broadneck

There's no place like home for St. Mary, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Sunday. They breezed by the Broadneck Bruins to the tune of 59-28 on Monday. That looming 59-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Saints yet this season.

St. Mary's was led to victory by Bailey Harris and Alexandra Vandiver. Harris shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards, while Vandiver dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least a third of St. Mary's points. Another player making a difference was Keely Orndorff, who posted six points.

Despite the loss, Broadneck still got an impressive performance from Macie Mcnece, who earned 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Best, who posted ten points.

St. Mary's record is now 3-4. As for Broadneck, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.

St. Mary's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-41 victory against Archbishop Spalding on the 11th. As for Broadneck, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-42 win against Indian Creek on the 10th.
