Basketball Recap: Phoenix Starts Season with Victory at Home

Phoenix took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the New Buffalo Bison 76-50. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Falcons had established a 20-point advantage.

Defeat or not, New Buffalo got some senior leadership from Lucas Forker and Nick Haskins. Forker shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points and three steals, while Haskins posted six points and six steals. John Bradshaw was another key player, putting up seven points.

Coming up, Phoenix will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Buffalo, they are taking a road trip to take on River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Bison their first taste of in-conference action this season.
