Galax had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They managed a 59-54 victory over the Giles Spartans on Tuesday. The Maroon Tide's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Galax's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Giles, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Galax has already played their next match (against Bland County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Giles and Auburn will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Auburn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Giles likes a good challenge.
