Softball Recap: Sacred Heart Academy vs. Guilford Grizzlies

Sacred Heart Academy extended their losing streak to nine on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Guilford Grizzlies. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 28, 2021, but that streak is no more.

As for Guilford, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.

Looking ahead, Sacred Heart Academy will head out on the road to take on Lauralton Hall at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.67 runs per game on average), something Sacred Heart Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
